Training New Boards

Newly elected or appointed officers often need support. By offering training and development early on organizations can benefit from the gifts fresh leadership and perspective brings.

The client

The regional division of a world-wide civic organization

The issue

The organization had just elected a slate of new board and committee members; the question now was how get them up to speed on parliamentary procedure—bylaws, rules of order, motions, election procedures and the like.

The strategy

We proposed a series of five parliamentary training sessions custom-tailored to the organizations specific needs. They opted to do them virtually and we were happy to oblige, although we are willing to meet in person as well. The sessions covered everything the new board and committee members needed to know about parliamentary procedure.

The outcome

Member feedback was great and the client found the training so valuable they have opted for our annual refresher training session.
